Biography
I am a fashion creative, educator and academic leader with over 25 years of teaching experience, specialising in Fashion Communication, Design and Creative Practice.
I joined Middlesex University in 2008, working part-time until 2023 while continuing my professional creative practice.Â
My career began after graduating from the Royal College of Art, initially working as a menswear designer before establishing my own menswear accessories label and moving into creative consultancy and styling. I have worked with a wide range of designers and brands including Martine Rose, Topman Design, Dexter Wong, Noel Stewart, The Avant, Zegna Baruffa, Griffin and Catherine Walker.
I was also co-founder of Slashstroke Studio, a collaborative creative platform bringing together an international network of artists, designers, writers and filmmakers through publishing, exhibitions and participatory workshops. Our clients and collaborators included the V&A, Barbican, Fashion Space Gallery, Design Week, Create London, Hackney Council and The Sunday Times.
Alongside my work in fashion and higher education, I have a longstanding interest in community engagement, creative collaboration and widening participation in the arts. I served as an adviser to both the Education Board and the Vice Vent project for Brent's London Borough of Culture 2020.
My work continues to bridge education, industry and creative practice, with a particular focus on developing meaningful collaborations, supporting emerging creative talent and creating opportunities.
