Why attend an open day

Why attend an open day

As one of the few London universities with a true campus, our open days are the perfect chance to discover everything we offer. From industry-standard resources to sports facilities, student accommodation and to meet your future lecturers. Our open days are designed to give you a flavour of what it’s like to live and study at Middlesex. You'll discover more about your course and meet staff and students too.

We welcome prospective students, parents and supporters to visit our outstanding North London campus in autumn, spring or summer. You can also join our virtual events to learn more, wherever you are.

Questions about open events

Questions about open events

Open events give you the opportunity to find out more about your course, meet academics, chat to current students, explore the campus and facilities, and ask questions about areas such as funding, careers and student support.

Our undergraduate Open Day offers an immersive, hands-on experience, with subject talks, interactive taster sessions and opportunities to explore course-specific facilities.

Our postgraduate Open Evening gives you the chance to explore your next steps in more depth, with one-to-one conversations with academics, postgraduate talks and opportunities to discover our campus and facilities.

Research your course, prepare questions and check the programme in advance. Here, you can make a note of any talks you’d like to attend and the tour times, so you don’t miss anything of interest. Bring something for taking notes, wear comfortable shoes and think about what you want to explore, such as accommodation, facilities and student support.

Absolutely anything you like. We’ve got almost everything covered, with support staff and academics available throughout the day. You can ask questions such as the number of teaching hours on your course, how to find a part-time job, when to apply for accommodation and the support available if you have a neurodivergent condition.

You can also ask lecturers about teaching, assessments and placements, hear directly from current students about university life, and speak to support teams about accommodation, finance, wellbeing, careers and more.

Wear whatever makes you feel comfortable. You’ll be walking around campus and attending sessions, so comfortable clothing and footwear are usually the best choices. If you’re interested in a sports course, feel free to wear sportswear.

Our main campus in Hendon, north London, is located 10 minutes from the Northern line and Thameslink rail line. Both take you to and from central London in under 30 minutes.

We are also easily accessible by car, being close to the North Circular and the A41, and offer free parking for Open Day visitors in our Greyhound Hill car park. Plan your journey on .

Free parking is available for both the undergraduate and postgraduate open events.

Our campus is wheelchair accessible, and you can book disabled parking if you need to. If you have specific access requirements or questions before your visit, please contact recruitmentevents@mdx.ac.uk, and we’ll be happy to help.

Our Wellbeing, Disability and Inclusion team will be present at the open event and can answer any questions regarding student support.

Our Student Advice team will also be there to discuss student finance, including understanding the Student Finance England loan.

Most visitors spend between two and three hours at an open event, giving them enough time to attend talks, explore campus and ask questions.
