Changing the culture
We educate, empower, and inspire students to take part in transformative social justice projects developed with our local community.
Changing the Culture reflects the University’s role as an anchor institution. Through student co-creation and collaboration with community partners, we create meaningful change at Middlesex and beyond.
Our expertise includes:
- community-engaged learning (CEL)
- campaign development
- student voice
- project management
- innovative problem-solving.
We are agile, reflective, and committed to improving our work. We are proud of our achievements and continue to explore new ways to create value and make an impact.
If you are interested in collaborating with Changing the Culture, we would love to hear from you.
We empower students to become co-creators, leaders, and role models who advance cultural change across the University and local community.
Students shape, deliver, and evaluate our projects. Their contribution makes them catalysts for lasting change.
We help students engage with important social justice issues and become socially conscious citizens and changemakers. They can apply this experience within the University and their own communities.
By amplifying student voices, we support student-led campaigns and co-create learning resources that reflect the diversity of our student body. This work helps every student feel seen, heard, and represented.
We build collaborative relationships across our local community to share knowledge, co-design initiatives, and address social justice issues.
Collective action can create positive cultural change within the University and its surrounding communities. As an anchor institution, we work towards a fairer and more inclusive society.
We provide a central hub for dialogue and partnership. Our partners include:
- local organisations
- local government
- businesses
- schools
- further education colleges
- community groups.
Together, we deliver projects that mobilise resources, expertise, and networks.
Community-engaged learning embeds civic participation into the student experience. It connects students with community organisations and directs their creativity, commitment, and energy towards local priorities.
